Saskia came through the RYA Junior and Youth System sailing Optimists and Laser Radials.

After winning the Laser Radial Youth Europeans in 1996 Saskia made the step to double handed sailing and 470s. Alongside studying Sport Science at University College Chichester she was training and competing as a member of the Olympic Development Squad.

Watching Athens 2004 from home focussed Saskia’s attention on Beijing 2008 and bringing home a medal.
