Christina

Christina was a member of the UK 420 Youth Squad (youth class boat and sister-ship of the 470) from the age of 14, qualifing for the Junior Europeans in 1997 and 1999 and finishing 5th in 1999. In 2000, she finished 2nd in the UK 420 World Championship Trials series and 1st female overall. In 1998, 1999 and 2000 Christina also held the title of Ladies 420 National Champion.

Christina won the 2000 Ladies World Championship title, in the International 420 gaining her a place on the Olympic Development Squad, her first step towards her ultimate dream.

“Sometimes I still can’t believe that the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens has been and gone, it all seems like such a dream but the dream didn’t end quite how I hoped it would. So, the conquest to make my dream come true continues!”

“Surprisingly there is life after sailing too! I studied Management and Accounting at Southampton University though I have to confess spent the whole time itching to go sailing! Home is in Southampton, though I am originally from Chichester which is where my family and heart lies.”
